Preparing for the Lord's Supper

We believe that the Sacrament of Holy Communion is a gift of

Christ to His Church.
However, all who receive this gift must first examine themselves concerning matters of Biblical faith and Godly living.

 

1Corinthians 11:28 says,

"A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.”

Therefore, prior to celebrating Holy Communion, we ask that you prayerfully consider the following:

 

1.   Do I believe that I am a sinner without hope of eternal life except for God's mercy offered though the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ?  (Romans 3:23-24, 1 John 1:8, Ecc. 7:20, Ps. 14:3, John 3:16)

 

2.   Do I repent of my sins in thought, word and behavior?

(Acts 2:38, 3:19, Luke 3:13, Mt. 3:8)

 

3.   Do I believe that Jesus Christ is God's Son and my personal Savior? (John. 3:16, 1 John. 4:9-10)

 

4.   Do I believe that Jesus Christ is personally and physically present in the sacrament of Holy Communion with His Body and His Blood? (Matthew 26:26-28, 1 Cor. 10:16, 11:24-25)

 

5.   Do I desire by the power of the Holy Spirit and the instruction of God's Word to live a life pleasing to Him?

 

We believe your "Yes" to these questions affirms a common faith with confirmed Lutheran Christians and is your invitation to our Lord's Table of Holy Communion.

We encourage non-communing children to accompany their parents for a personal blessing. For those who choose not to receive wine, white grape juice is available.
